About Us

Established in 1982, Poetry West is a non-profit and voluntary organization which offers a place for Poets and Writers to gather for the enjoyment of poetry. (* Review by-laws) We meet the first Saturday of each month (except in January when we meet on the second Saturday) from 10-12 a.m. We usually meet in the Worner Center at Colorado College in downtown Colorado Springs.

We host, organize and participate in a number of poetry related events in the Pikes Peak region. For example, Poetry West is proud to help sponsor the Pikes Peak Poet Laureate project. And we are proud to support the work of the Colorado State Poet Laureate David Mason, an honorary member of Poetry West.
