POETRY WEST
Poetry West hosts monthly workshops (usually on the first Saturday), critique sessions designed to improve writing skills, and occasional poetry readings. Our goal is to provide a forum where people who enjoy writing, reading, and listening to poetry can come together to share this common interest. Our workshops are open to the public, as are our poetry salons. And, since we are a nonprofit organization, membership is tax deductible. If you're interested in poetry and in meeting others in the area who share that interest, come join us at our workshops and readings.

June 6, 2009 is special.
Celebrate with Lois Beebe Hayna! Our next meeting on Saturday, June 6, will be a special champagne brunch devoted to celebrating Lois Beebe Hayna and her poetry—and, by Lois’s request—you and your poetry. Please come prepared to read a poem and to enjoy the spoken word. For this meeting, there are a few changes from our normal routine:
· Location: The meeting will be held at Casa Verde Commons, 1355 Lindenwood Grove, in the Common Room. Casa Verde is next to Dogtooth Café, which is at the intersection of Corona and Columbia.
· Time: 10:00am-1:00 pm
· RSVP: Please let us know by May 30 if you plan to attend. Pat Nolan is preparing an elegant meal and we need an accurate count for food. RSVP to Laura at laura.off.rhyme@gmail.com.
The reason for celebrating Lois (as if we need one) is to congratulate her on the receipt of her honorary doctorate from Regis University. She was awarded the degree at the commencement ceremony on May 9. A rare book room in the new library being built on the Regis campus will also be named for Lois. We just may need to celebrate twice!
